Steam users will soon miss out on the chance to play hundreds of free games. As the Steam Next Fest starts winding down, hundreds of demos will go offline, so it's time to explore while you have the chance.
There are currently over 1,000 demos available as part of Next Fest. These demos are for games coming soon and they're your only chance to try some truly original titles. The festival including some AAA games such as Robocop: Rogue City, though most of them are from indie developers.
Next Fest was a great chance to play the latest Robocop game
I'm really excited for a lot of the games that have appeared in the sale, though I didn't get much chance to play the demoes. Don't make the mistake I did, put some time aside to try some brilliant new games on Steam.

If you want to see what's possibly going to be your next obsession, or a highlight for the year to come, it's worth browsing through the full list of games. There's everything from racing games, to cosy simulators; base-builders to RPGs.
As a result of the demo festival, plenty of games have been added to wishlists. It's a good indicator as to what will gain popularity as time goes on, so you should keep your eyes on the following: Enshrouded, a survival base-builder that sees you try to save your dying race; Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, a Vampire Survivors-style game set in the Deep Rock universe; and Sky: Children of the Light, a gorgeous puzzle RPG MMO that seems to be giving Journey vibes.
This is a great time to fill your wishlist with games to watch, especially if you're a Steam Deck owner, or if PC is your platform of choice. A few games in the festival are being shown off as playable very early, so you're getting in on the ground floor.
