If you’re in the UK, we are heading into yet another long bank holiday weekend which may mean you’re on the lookout for a new game to keep you entertained. Of course, if it’s just a regular ol’ two-day weekend for those of you around the rest of the world, there’s no reason why you can’t also enjoy these latest freebies.
Today, these freebies come courtesy of Steam so roll up, roll up all my PC playing friends. As of right now, you can grab four free games over on Steam so head on over if you’re interested in downloading Snakedate, Antbassador, IndependANT, and Octodad: Student Edition. Unfamiliar with these titles? Allow me to be your guide.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor releases in a few days time. Who’s excited?
Let’s start with Octodad: Student Edition which is perhaps the most well-known property in this line-up. Created by Young Horses, this Student Edition was a part of the original Octodad: Deadliest Catch’s release back in 2010. Now, you can sample the Student Edition section on its own if you so wish. To bring you up to speed, players are tasked with completing ordinary human tasks while playing as an octopus masquerading as a human.

Snakedate is a physics-based speed-dating arcade game. Also created by Young Horses (you’re seeing the theme now?), this title basically entails slithering around a club trying to find a date. Next up, we have IndependANT where you’re tasked with exploring a giant living room as an ant searching for the rest of his colony. Finally, we have Antbassador, where you play as a giant human finger trying to make your way through an ant colony. Again, the latter two games are also Young Horses titles.
All in all, I think these freebies will have a hard time detracting attention away from this week’s major release Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but they’re there if you want them. At the time of writing, there’s no deadline on when the free availability ends so act now if you’re interested.
