With Star Wars Outlaws set to launch sometime this year, fans are gearing up for an epic tale told across the galaxy and recent news reveals that the reputation system could completely affect how the story plays out.
Star Wars Outlaws is an upcoming open-world action-adventure game which, as you probably guessed, takes place in the Star Wars universe. Taking place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Outlaws will tell the story of outlaw Kay Vess as she explores every corner of the galaxy.
With its release (hopefully) soon approaching, players are eager to learn more about the game and luckily, we recently learned some more about Outlaw’s reputation system which seems to be reminiscent of the one featured in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Ubisoft Massive creative director Julian Gerighty recently revealed that reputation will be one way for the player to deviate from the story’s fixed narrative.
"As a scoundrel you live and die by your reputation, meaning that Kay will have to navigate the underworld and its various crime syndicates, making choices that will impact her reputation, her experience, and her support throughout the game,” he recently told GamesRadar. "A good reputation could lead to some of the most lucrative opportunities, and a bad reputation could result in [Kay Vess] facing a syndicate's wrath as they hunt her down."

As you can tell, the reputation you garner can drastically change the story despite the game’s narrative reportedly having just one ending. This will stop Outlaws from becoming too predictable for players whilst also giving them access to different quests based on their standing in society. Much like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, breaking the law will make Kay face the law.
Although there are still a lot of things unknown about Star Wars Outlaws, it is still shaping up to be an epic open-world adventure when it launches sometime later this year.
