Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has finally been announced, and it looks fantastic.
The sequel to 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was finally unveiled by Respawn and EA during the Star Wars Celebration over the weekend, promising a much darker journey for Cal Kestis and friends.
Take a look at the trailer below!
Unfortunately for those of you who haven't yet been able to secure a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, it's been confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will new exclusive to new-gen consoles and PC when it launches next year. That means this is one game you won't be playing on PS4/Xbox One.

The good news (at least for those of us with new-gen hardware) is that this mean Respawn has been able to fully dive in and take advantage of the powerful new consoles for the sequel.
Jedi: Survivor game director Stig Asmussen outlined a number of seriously exciting sounding new-gen features in an interview with StarWars.com, including real-time raytracing and enhanced lighting effects.
"So I think the biggest thing is ray tracing, or lighting," Asmussen said in response to how the new consoles have affected development on Jedi: Survivor.
"That's allowing us to do real-time lighting, all the time, at a fidelity that's well beyond anything that we've ever produced before. Since it's real-time, we get to see the changes as we tweak the lights - immediately, essentially. That means that we have more time to polish, that means that we can iterate more, and we can get better results that feel more filmic."

Asmussen also spoke highly of the new-gen SSDs, and how exciting it is for the team to be able to play around in a world that isn't so reliant on loading screens.
"Beyond that, we have these blazing fast drives on these consoles that are allowing us to load tons of content really quickly," he added.
"I've always worked on streaming games - games that don't have load screens. The fact that these consoles have such fast storage has made it even easier. Those are probably the two biggest benefits. PlayStation 5 has some really interesting haptics on their controller that we're digging into, and it's just an easier process in general."
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is expected to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in the first half of 2023.
