Major spoilers for the season finale of The Book Of Boba Fett follow. You've been warned!
The Book Of Boba Fett stumbled to the finish line today, reminding us all why the beloved bounty hunter is much better off as a supporting player who stands in the background menacingly and occasionally does something cool.
If there's one thing I learned over the course of the show's seven episodes, two of which somehow completely forgot to include the main character, it's this: Boba Fett is boring.
Maybe a different team of writers and directors could have done something better. Maybe the show would've been saved if we didn't take a two-episode detour to focus on what The Mandalorian has been up to. I don't know. All I know is that The Book Of Boba Fett was not a very good show. And it seems to have saved its greatest insult for the very end.

Last week's episode threatened to take the show in an interesting new direction when none other than Cad Bane finally made his live-action debut. The fan-favourite bounty hunter established himself as a very real threat just in time for the season finale... only to be almost immediately dispatched. Needless to say, this did not go down well with Star Wars fans.
"I loved seeing him back," wrote one user on Twitter. "But it’s a bit of a shame to have him turn up and then basically disposed of in a rather swift manner."
The vast majority of criticisms certainly seem to be leveled at the manner in which Cad Bane bit the bullet more than anything else. After showing as a terrifyingly skilled gunslinger in the last episode, he was effectively bested after losing a fight with the wrong end of a Tusken spear.
Others have been a little kinder, believing that while a little rushed, Cad's death was a fitting end for the character and a good way to close out The Book Of Boba Fett. "I’m actually really sad about Cad Bane’s death, but I think it was a worthy and suited end," wrote one fan.

It's good that Star Wars fans have something new to argue about I guess. It's been a few minutes since the last big debate, after all.
