Star Wars Battlefront fans are shocked and amazed that the new re-release requires a whopping 70GB of install space on their platforms.
For those who haven’t seen it yet, the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection revives the two iconic Star Wars multiplayer games for modern platforms, though after an abysmal launch perhaps it should have stayed dead.
Take a look at the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection below.
Online servers for the game have been poor, leading to desync and other connection issues in online matchmaking as well as overall poor optimisation.

Adding to that list of problems, somehow, the collection requires an extraordinary 70GB of hard drive space to install.
For context, both Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars Battlefront 2 are unchanged in the collection, neither remade or remastered, simply ported to modern platforms with new online multiplayer access.
Fans are baffled as to why two early 2000s shooters are clogging up their storage and have voiced their frustration in a community post by Reddit user Turbostrider27.
One player was blown away, asking, “What on earth makes this game 70GB? The newer Battlefront 2 is like 90GB and there, one hero model probably has more polygons than all the units and heroes in the OG combined.”

Another fan explained how they were initially excited by the return of the OG Battlefronts and was looking forward to a “nostalgic day with friends” only to be sorely disappointed.
In fact, a player who bought the game on day one said they "played it for less than an hour”, and “refunded in like 10 mins”.
It’s worth noting an update for the game on PlayStation 5 has dropped the install size down a bit to around 30GB, but still, it begs the question as to what in the game is blowing up our hard drives.
The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is available now for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms.
