Spyro fans are convinced that a new game is on the way

Spyro fans are convinced that a new game is on the way

Chasing the dragon

It feels like an absolute age since we last saw our boy Spyro gliding through the sky in a brand-new game.

Many of us had given up hope of playing a new title featuring the charming and playful dragon who first debuted on the original PlayStation.

If you need a new platformer, we gave Astro Bot a 10/10 and you need it in your life.

Now, fans believe that a new game is cooking over at Toys for Bob since the studio refreshed their website with a new design.

Since the website relaunched, two characters stand out prominently - Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. The two characters are mascots in their own right and Toys for Bob has done brilliant work with them.

However, if you navigate to the ‘recent games’ section, you’ll see the expected games we’ve played over the years, but a new mystery game has appeared and is shrouded in purple.

This has many convinced that the game hidden behind this mystery will be a new Spyro because of the use of purple.

This was pointed out by the Twitter account Spyro Universe which goes on to say, “I feel like it’s kinda significant they’re able to showcase the characters like this and not just in the portfolio of the games they already made.”

Is this a bit of a reach? Not really, the use of purple is significant and it’s unlikely that the developer would use that colour by accident.

However, it’s worth tempering your expectations. Yes, this new game might feature Spyro, but it may not be a new platformer, it could very well be based on the Spyro universe.

Either way, something fun is coming from the studio that understands joy and humour and, at this point, we’ll take anything Spyro-adjacent.

The studio had also recently worked on the Call of Duty series but has since gone independent, which allows them to focus on what they love and what they do best.
