'Skyrim' With 1500 Mods And Ray Tracing Is Just Beautiful

Skyrim has never looked better than it does with this massive mod package, and you can download it for yourself, too.

We’re all guilty of making jokes about the constant re-releases of Skyrim, don’t even try to deny it. I mean, it does feel slightly ridiculous - the fact that the Special, Legendary and Anniversary editions of the game are all distinct, separate things is pretty silly. It was recently announced that Anniversary Edition is now coming to the Switch, by the way - it truly never stops.

The truth is though, that we as the fanbase are just as guilty. And not just in buying every version of the game (although we definitely do that too), we’re also constantly making our own. Sort of, anyway. I’m talking about all the mods and Unreal Engine remasters, of course - the fanbase seems to have an obsession with making this (almost) 11 year old game look as shiny as possible. Now, as reported by DSOGaming, and as showcased in a video from YouTube channel Digital Dreams, Skyrim has never looked shinier.

Before we get into it, take a look at some of the funniest Skyrim wins and fails right here.

Apparently, the result of mashing over 1500 mods into one package is a completely transformed game - take a look below. I think we can all agree that if The Elder Scrolls VI’s visuals look as good as the 4K splendour we can see here, we’re going to be in for an amazing time.

Also, yes, this mod package is actually something that you can download and use yourself. It’s called Elysium Remastered, and you can grab it from here. You’ll need the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim to be able to run it, but the results speak for themselves - it’s definitely worth it. Just keep in mind that Elysium Remastered doesn’t just change the game’s visuals, but some gameplay elements, too - the official description notes that “you should expect a more challenging game” if you download it, so watch out for that.

Now, do we actually think we’re going to see anything of The Elder Scrolls VI during Sunday’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase? There’s always a chance, right? …Right?
