Some of Skyrim's hidden rooms are best left hidden, and I think it's pretty clear this is one of them.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may be over a decade old, but fans are still finding all sorts of new shortcuts, tricks, and secrets.
Most of them are genuinely useful, in some way. This one, however, will leave you shaken to your core.

Have you ever wondered what happens to NPCs in Skyrim when you murder them? I always assumed they were just... gone. But it turns out they are very much still inside the game.
This grim discovery was shared over on a Skyrim Reddit thread, in which fans were asking for little-known facts about how the Bethesda RPG works behind the scenes.
"I like the one where- and I'm a little out of my depth here as I don't know the how and it's been some time since I've seen it mentioned, but - all the bodies of killed/slain/murdered NPCs end up in some hidden 'underground' room. Like piled up in a big stack as a way to remove them from the world, but not delete them," one user explained in the thread.
"I accidentally teleported there once while messing around with console commands and it was one of the freakiest things I've ever seen in a video game," another user responded.

Sure enough, there really is a room where all the dead NPCs are sent. I don't pretend to know enough about development to even begin to guess why corpses need to be sent to a special room, but I love that this nightmare chamber exists to terrify anyone messing around with console commands.
Never change, Skyrim.
