Will Skyrim ever die? I find it increasingly unlikely. Even as the beloved RPG nears its 15th(!) anniversary, fans keep the flame alive with a bevy of expansions both supported and unsupported by Bethesda.
While there's no official word on when fans can expect the next instalment in The Elder Scrolls series, the last game in the popular RPG franchise, Skyrim, is still being heavily modded by fans. A recently released mod has added a huge location that is the size of "about three Skyrim holds" for fans to explore.
Take a look at some of the best Skyrim wins and fails below!
According to the official NexusMods page for Shumer and the Priest Kings, there's over "8,500 lines of voiced dialogue to support the quests and narrative of Shumer and to add local colour". There's also 52 different books that cover the history of the region, with 21 quests in the main questline, 34 different side quests, 21 guild quests and 70 miscellaneous quests, meaning that the mod will keep even the most hardcore fan busy for quite a while.
Advert
The mod itself requires two separate pieces of DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Dawnguard and Dragonborn) to function, but it's more than likely that fans who are interested in this mod already have all the DLC for the game, especially considering how old the title is now.
The new mod will give fans of developer Bethesda who were previously looking forward to jumping into the next-gen update for Fallout 4 something to play while they wait for that to be fixed so that all of their mods work with it, while also giving fans waiting for the currently-in-development The Elder Scrolls VI something to whet their appetite for the main course that is still to come years down the line.
