If you were after a new expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, then you’re in the right place fellow adventurer.

When it comes to popular fantasy RPGs, it doesn't get much better than Skyrim. Ever since it originally launched in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Skyrim just keeps getting bigger, mostly thanks to its ever-vibrant modding community.

Check out the Skyrim Anniversary Edition trailer below!

One of the other reasons why Skyrim has continued to be the most popular entry in The Elder Scrolls series is because it’s been ported to every console generation since 2011. That being said, if fans keep buying it, Bethesda will continue to sell it but you won't hear us complaining.

A mod that is the topic of this article is called ‘Mana Vault Aventures Volume 2’ created by Mana Vault and best of all, it’s free to download now via Nexusmods.

Despite the name of the mod, this is a standalone expansion but its creator recommends checking out ‘Volume 1’ with details on how to download that version found on the Nexusmods page.

“Quests, new dungeons, new villages, fully customisable mount obtainable from a quest, followers, headhunt, new shrines and blessings, new spells, new player homes through quests and treasure hunts, and more,” reads its description.

Once the mod is downloaded and added to Skyrim, the mod creator suggests starting the game as you normally would and once you reach a certain level, wait for an NPC to approach you, which will then begin the new activities.

Sadly, as is the nature of most mods and despite Xbox supporting a wealth of mods via its Creation Club, ‘Mana Vault Aventures Volume 2’ is a PC exclusive.

For the rest of us, we can play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as intended on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It’s also included in an Xbox Game Pass subscription at no extra cost as well as with PS Plus Extra and Premium.
