To this day, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains full of surprises. Even if something has been discovered by other players, I don’t think any of us could put our hand on our hearts and swear to have seen every single thing that the game has to offer.
One such secret features an island stashed with loot and if you haven’t stumbled across this hidden treasure before, that’s going to change after today. This discovery was previously brought to life by LordKebun but it’s a little tidbit of information worth revisiting as I’m sure there are still plenty of players who have yet to benefit from this stash. You’ll begin at a point on the map that’s equidistant between Flatneck and Riggs Station, just underneath the Dakota River. A white question mark on the map should indicate a stranger nearby which is where our journey will kick off.
Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.
Talk to the stranger and you’ll acquire a treasure map. The map is directing you towards a location in Caliban’s Seat. Go there and match up the cliffside with the image on the map, then follow its instructions and head over the ridge. You’ll pass a small tent and campfire, slide along the ridge’s edge, and then you should locate your first stack of cash plus an additional treasure map.

This next map is indicating a location in Cotorra Springs. Search the nearby rock piles when you arrive and one will contain yet another map. This final map is directing you to a small island at O’Creagh’s Run. A quick search should eventually yield two gold bars. LordKebun also recommends you loot the nearby cabin. You can take a look at the full walkthrough below.
“People were saying there was treasure at the lake on [the] island, but I could never find it. Well, with your instructions, I got it. tThank you,” one viewer wrote, while another added, “Watching this, I have just realised that I have been up there but didn't bother looking for the gold haha.” You just never know what you’re going to stumble across in a Rockstar game. I can’t wait to see what GTA VI has in store.
