PC video game mods can be a wonderful thing. They can add new modes, improve graphics and gameplay, and in some cases, completely change the game, quite literally.
One such mod is the Zen mod for Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2. As reported by PCGamesN, the Zen mod takes the immersion of this wild west classic to the next level.
This mod is so good that I’m totally jealous that it will never come to PC. So what does the Zen mod bring to the table? Well, as it happens, it changes the game quite a lot and arguably in the best way possible.
When this mod is applied to your PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2, you can perform subtle actions such as sitting on every chair, bench, stair or ledge. What’s more, you can also lean on fences, railings and walls. While doing so you can clean your gun, hat and/or boots, smoke a cigar, have a drink and even whittle wood.

However, that is not all, because you can sleep on any bed, bedrolls or ground that you choose and select the number of hours that you want to snooze. You can also play the piano, wash yourself in buckets of water, and even have a cleaner horse. The mod even lets you switch off combat music.
All of the above actions may seem small, but if you wanted to experience Red Dead Redemption 2 as a role-playing game, living the western life, the Zen mod is perfect for living out that fantasy. If this mod sounds like your cup of tea, it’s available now via Nexusmods, so thank you talented modder, you are in our debt.
In related news, someone has discovered a hidden room and treasure, five years after RDR2 was released, and a recent website update all but confirms that a remake of the original Red Dead Redemption is on the way.
