Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most immersive games of all time and surely, it couldn't get any better, could it?
Initially released in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, before later arriving on PC, Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 was met with high critical acclaim at least, garnering Metacritic scores as high as 97. There’s not a lot that you can’t do in Rockstar Games’ wonderfully crafted wild west world. Of course, there are the main story missions to complete, but you can also take on bounties, interact with a diverse and interesting cast of NPCs, go play a game of cards, partake in a spot of hunting and so much more.
Take a look at some of our favourite Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails.
Furthermore, even on last-gen consoles, Red Dead Redemption 2 looks better than most new games today despite being released five years ago. It’s not just how nice the game looks, but also how various regions of the game feel so different from your last visited location. The word ‘masterpiece’ gets thrown around a lot nowadays, but I can think of no better way to describe this amazing game.

If you haven't guessed already, I may be a fan of Red Dead Redemption 2, yet for a game that nears perfection in my book, talented modders have somehow made the game even better. Yes, RDR2 has been made better and more immersive than ever thanks to the ‘Dynamic Seasons’ mod. As the name of the mod suggests, this will essentially allow Red Dead Redemption 2 to seemingly transition through each of the four seasons organically: spring, summer, autumn and winter. The mod has been created by a talented group of modders and is available to download now via Nexusmods.
“Each of the seasons will have its own visual palette, temperatures, sunset/sunrise times, weather and everything else you expect with an actual seasonal climate,” reads the Dynamic Seasons description. “Winter will, of course, have snow coverage, similar to the one in the Red Dead Online winter event and late autumn/early spring, which will characterise with more snow near the mountains! Every season will have a carefully fine-tuned colour palette, so yes... during autumn everything will have that cool orange vibe.”
In related news, other modders have been hard at work creating bonus story content for Red Dead Redemption 2 and fans have hailed the Undead Nightmares expansion as one of the greatest of all time.
