PlayStation users everywhere can download a brand-new free game right now, regardless of if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Indie darlings Mediatonic announced earlier this month that the excellent, anarchic battle royale Fall Guys would be free to download and play for everyone on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 from June 21 - no PS Plus needed. It's also available on Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Not too shabby!
Calendar fans will be aware that June 21 is now here, which means you can head to the PlayStation Store right now and grab Fall Guys for the reasonable price of nothing.

Check it out in action below!
A lot of you may have already gotten Fall Guys for "free", of course. The game launched as one of the PlayStation Plus games for August 2020, but this is a chance for people who missed it/weren't subscribed at the time to check out a very different kind of battle royale - one that's only grown over the last two years with more modes, rounds, and other whacky content. I haven't played in a long time, but you can be sure this new free-to-play era has tempted me back into redownloading the game.
I gave Fall Guys a respectable 9/10 when I reviewed it on launch, calling it an "instantly accessible and brightly coloured indie gem".

"It's constantly exhilarating, infuriating, and downright hilarious," I added. "As with most battle royales, the idea of coming out on top of everything else and claiming that final victory is the most intoxicating thought of all. The major difference is that in Fall Guys, victory is actually possible for everybody. It really is that rarest of modern games: one that you can pick up and instantly understand what it is you have to do without lengthy tutorials or explanations. I'm not saying your gran will take to it as deftly as she did Wii Sports, but I'm willing to bet she'd much prefer this over a game of Warzone."
If you've never checked out Fall Guys, what are you waiting for? This time you literally have nothing to lose.
