If you are looking for five recommendations for games to play for free on PlayStation with no PS Plus subscription needed, then you’re in the right place.
It can be way too easy to waste our money on a video game we were looking forward to whether it's on PC, PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo. Thankfully, some games have free playable demos that let us sample a game before parting with our hard-earned cash.
Check out the Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii trailer below!
One such place where you can find free playable demos is on the PlayStation Store, and unlike a PS Plus Premium subscription that offers trials, you can check out these demos with no catch.

So with that in mind, I’ve picked out five relatively new demos that you can download right now on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
- Like a Dragon - Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii: “In this free demo version, you'll embark on a modern-day adventure on land and sea as an ex-yakuza, now pirate captain, Goro Majima. Explore and fight your way through the vibrant city of Honolulu, then venture to the secret criminal haven Madlantis, where pirates engage in deadly naval battles for sport.”
- PGA Tour 2K25: “Step up to the first tee and get started on your journey in the newest iteration of the best-selling and highest-rated golf sim franchise of the decade. Create your custom golfer and play the tight fairways, tough bunkers and stunning bodies of water at the famous TPC Scottsdale.”
- The First Berserker - Khazan: “ is a hardcore action RPG based on the Dungeon Fighter Online (DnF) universe, Nexon's flagship IP with more than 800 million players worldwide. Set 800 years before the events of DnF, the game unfolds on the continent of Arad and explores the untold story of Khazan, the first Berserker.”
- Little Big Adventure - Twinsen’s Quest: “Twinsen is back in this remake featuring a new stylish makeover and modernized gameplay. Faithful to the original game, Little Big Adventure – Twinsen’s Quest takes you on an epic journey on a small planet harbouring both magic and technology.”
- Crossy Road Castle: “Climb castles with the Crossy Road crew in this adventurous multiplayer arcade platformer for 1-4 players. Many more unique Towers, events, character unlocks, collectables and full online play are unlocked in the full version.”
There you have it, those are just five of the many demos you can download today from the PlayStation Store. Hopefully at least one of the above games is worth your while.
