If you have a subscription to PlayStation Plus extra or premium then you have access to one of the best video games ever made. It's a bold claim but Disco Elysium is universally acclaimed for being a supremely clever RPG.
Well before I joined GAMINGbible I gave Disco Elysium a perfect score, fully believing that nothing could personify surreality, humour and philosophy any better than this unique RPG.
Take a look at it in action below!
You don't have to believe me. You can check out Ewan's review and see that we gave it full marks while praising every aspect of the game, saying "It is, and I mean this without a whiff of hyperbole, a masterpiece. You need to play this game." This version of the game is definitive and features several quality of life updates for PlayStation.

Disco Elysium is a tough game to pigeonhole. On the face of things, it's an RPG that uses dice rolls and character building, similar to a Dungeons and Dragons title. Instead of dungeons and indeed dragons, we have two cops attempting to solve cases in a bleak landscape.
Pretty much everything happens via conversations or skill checks and, much like D&D, anything can happen. If you love talking your way into or out of trouble like in recent smash-hit Baldur's Gate 3, you're going to have a blast.
For example, failing a roll to put on your trousers right at the start of the game can end in a fatal mishap. Disco Elysium is at turns funny, but also sombre. It deals with heavy topics using a light touch.
Our 'heroes' are unlikely, neither of them particularly successful in life, both have flaws that the game will examine in a variety of ways. It's up to you how you build out your character, putting points into certain traits that you will sometimes interact with directly to sense changes in the storyline or the world.
