Following the PlayStation Stars outage back in June, players have reported that it is still proving difficult to claim their free store credit after the service was reinstated.
PlayStation’s free loyalty scheme PlayStation Stars is yet another way for users to get their hands on free store credit by accumulating points through various challenges, purchases and game time.

Unlike PlayStation Plus, Stars is free and upon earning enough points, users can exchange them for free store credit with some players reporting they have yet to purchase a new title at full price since the scheme started.

However, following an update in June, PlayStation Stars suddenly went offline with no explanation from Sony.
The service remained inactive for over a month with users unable to access their free store credit during this time.
Understandably, many were worried that all of their points had disappeared but following the return of the scheme, everything seemed to be back to normal.
However, that was not the case for everyone.

Since then, a large quantity of PlayStation users have reported that they are still unable to claim their free store credit.
In a poll consisting of almost 200 votes over on r/playstationstars, 50 players reported still not being able to access PlayStation Stars at all.
For another user, they have still not been able to redeem their points despite gaining access to Stars for the first time since the outage.
“Reloaded the app and everything and it still says something went wrong, guess I’ll go back to treating it as if it’s still broken,” they reported.

This is a worrying time for users as hoarding free store credit is a long and laborious task. Hopefully Sony will address this issue in upcoming weeks.
