Zelda fans stunned by new-gen overhaul beyond anything we've seen before

Zelda fans stunned by new-gen overhaul beyond anything we've seen before

Our eyes aren't worthy

As Legend of Zelda fans, we love exploring the different aesthetics of each game; it’s part of the charm of the franchise.

Even so, there are certain renditions of the treasured hero that we can’t get enough of.

Newer titles – such aa Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom – have been praised for their stunning aesthetic.

But even those great looks can stand to have a little glow up.

This Tears of the Kingdom overhaul is beautiful

After all, as beautiful as the games are, especially Tears of the Kingdom, the Nintendo Switch is starting to struggle to keep us with such big experiences.

Consider this new-gen graphical overhaul a way of seeing what The Legend of Zelda on the Switch 2 might look like.

As is commonplace with many graphic showcases, Digital Dreams is the YouTube channel behind this updated Legend of Zelda experience.

Via the wonders of raytracing and various mods, Link’s adventure is transformed!

Not only can you watch this gorgeous overhaul, but you can also experience it yourself thanks to Digital Dreams linking to the modlist used.

What’s most enjoyable about this new-gen experience is how it reminds us of our first time playing Breath of the Wild, when it all felt fresh and ultra new.

“This is how I remember my first BotW playthrough,” said @TsarBomba69420.

Another YouTube user said, “Raytracing so advanced you can now see Zelda's reflection of disappointment every time Link stops to cook in the middle of an urgent quest.”

The countdown to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is on.

You could prepare by playing through a new-gen overhaul of a Legend of Zelda title, or you could check out these free downloads for the Switch instead.

In fact, why not do both – it's what Zelda would want (we think, don’t quote us on that).
