An Xbox development kit that likely has the same specs as Microsoft’s next console has been spotted in South Korea.

Over the past few weeks, Xbox has been making some big changes to its daily operations, like porting over four fantastic exclusives to PlayStation platforms, reworking its Microsoft Rewards app, and more.

One of the game’s ported to PlayStation was Hi-Fi Rush, which you can see below.

There were concerns from fans that Xbox was planning to give up hardware production and focus all of its efforts on third-party software instead, something Xbox boss Phil Spencer denied saying new consoles will be made.

A new version of the Xbox Series X/S, as well as a controller that was remarkably similar to a PS5 DualSense, was leaked during the Microsoft V FTC trial, and now it seems a brand-new Xbox development kit has been spotted in the wild.

The new development kit was recently certified in South Korea meaning game developers can use it to create new games.

The kit also has a different model number to the one used for the Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and other Xbox consoles, confirming it must be related to a new piece of hardware.

Of course, Microsoft is yet to confirm the existence of a new Xbox console, though Sony is reportedly planning to release a PlayStation 5 Pro towards the end of the year.

The new PlayStation model will be significantly more powerful and could very likely overtake the Xbox Series X in terms of performance, making it the ideal time for Xbox to fight back with new hardware of its own.

Console announcements typically take place during the Summer, with the aim to release said console towards the end of the year, meaning we could be due an announcement in the next few months.
