Oh dear. A new Xbox update has landed, but fans are seriously unhappy with its main changes.
In case you haven’t seen it yet, yesterday (26 July), the Xbox Home screen was given a significant overhaul on both Xbox One and Series X/S. Announced by the senior product manager lead for Xbox Experiences, Ivy Krislov (via Xbox Wire), the update “is designed from player feedback and makes it easier to discover new games, rediscover games you already love, connect with communities, and create a more personalised experience”. However, fans aren't into it at all.
Later this year, Xbox Series X/S owners will be able to dive into Bethesda’s enormous space-exploration RPG, Starfield. Take a look below.
Currently, the r/XboxSeriesX subreddit is full of gamers begging Xbox to reverse the update due to the ‘horrible’ new ‘Most Played Games’ tab. Reddit user Spiderwolfer wrote: “Ever since the new Xbox Home Screen update I have been punished with this awful, unmovable tab titled, ‘Most played games’. This wouldn’t be entirely horrible if it contained MY most played games but it doesn’t.

“It contains Xbox’s most played games, most of which I don’t even own,” they continued. “Generally I don’t mind the new Xbox Home Screen layout but I don’t feel like it’s much better either. What I really wanted was for our custom groups to be at the top of the screen and this has put them down even further. This is a pretty annoying inconvenience and wish they had thought this through a little more. PLEASE consider changing this.”
Others are seriously annoyed, too: “Why would I give a flying f**k what is most played? It’s literally been the same four-five games for the past decade. Pointless tab,” agreed itssfrisky. “I hate this new UI with a fiery passion of a thousand suns,” NotoriousBPD wrote. “I really hope they get rid of this. I have no interest in knowing what's being played by people I don't know. I don't understand why that information has to be shown on the home screen of MY Xbox,” commented dkb_wow.
Xbox is yet to respond to the complaints.
