Last week saw Microsoft reveal that it would be making changes to its Xbox Game Pass Quests to kick off the new year.
As a result, in some regions, the major overhaul has already taken effect and it seems as though Xbox Game Pass Quests will now focus more on rewarding consistent gaming as opposed to achievement hunting.

Members will now be able to complete streaks which will reward them with points based on how many days that they have consistently booted up their Xbox and took part in a gaming session.

Multipliers can also contribute to the amount of points earned but overall, 4-Pack and 8-Pack challenges will encourage players to regularly access the Xbox Game Pass library in an attempt to use their consoles more regularly.
However, these new changes have come at the expense of an old challenge which rewarded players based on their amount of achievements earned.
Earning achievements on a daily basis used to reward players with points but that has now been removed entirely.
Luckily, it seems as though this decision has been received well by Xbox users.

“The fact that there are no missions with achievements is a positive thing,” one user recently posted over on r/MicrosoftRewards.
“Let me explain better. Now I can play freely without thinking about playing based on the ease of the objectives or playing only for the objectives, perhaps even ruining the gaming experience.”
The comments soon came flooding in and it seems as though the majority agree with this statement.
TheSchlaf replied, “True. Hated that I only played games when I needed achievements because I'd get an easy one I could've used for points.”

Another comment read, “I’m so pleased to be free from this.
So often I’d play to get an achievement, realise another one is close so I’d turn it off so that it could be tomorrow’s ‘ping’.
Now I can go back to just gaming because I want to, not feeling that I need to get an achievement each day.”
