Christmas may officially be over but it seems as though Microsoft is showing no signs of stopping the celebrations with some free gift cards appearing for some Xbox users.
I don’t know about you but I will never say no to free store credit for my chosen platforms.
Check out the Xbox Series X/S consoles below!
If you agree, then you are in luck as Microsoft is back yet again with a giveaway which will see select Xbox users win gift cards as part of its Xbox Countdown Sale 2024.

Running from now until the end of January, some lucky Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S users could see themselves bag a $5 gift voucher to use on the in-game store.
However, not only does the event seem to be selecting US residents only but there also seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who will randomly be picked to win.
That being said, to find out if you have been picked, simply head to your Xbox messages (also known as Chat) and see if you have been contacted about the Xbox Countdown Sale 2024.
You can find an example here with the message reading: “The Countdown Sale is back with great savings! Here is a $5 USD Gift Card that you can use to buy Games, Add-ons, Movies, and Apps on the U.S. Microsoft Store”.

It goes without saying that you should make sure any links provided are legit as scammers will have a field day with this event.
However, the bigger problem seems to lay with Xbox users who have reportedly never been the lucky recipient of the Xbox Countdown Sale 2024.
“Been with Xbox all my life and haven't received one like never,” Reddit user KmaleonEnReddit commented.
“Remember when they used to hide Xbox gift card codes in emails?” Another user reminisced.

“I swear I got a $100 gift card once from that. Guess those times are done lol.”
For user Just_Doctor_3947, it seems as though they were a lucky winner.
“Hey, good looking out,” they shared.
“Just checked and had a $5 bonus waiting as well. Never would have looked because I have all messages not from friends set as ignore.”

So if you are in the U.S, it is worth checking your Xbox inbox to see if you are lucky this year.
