There’s a brand new “officially licensed” piece of OG Xbox tech on the market, but it’s not actually being produced by Microsoft.
The “Special Edition Greenhaven DuchesS” is a see-through, Halo-inspired controller from third-party manufacturer Hyperkin.
It’s supposed to mimic the Special Edition Halo OG Xbox console that first dropped back in 2004, which is why it’s taken on such a bulbous, oversized form.

Hyperkin hasn’t actually revealed many details regarding the controller beyond what’s in that Tweet, but thankfully The Verge's Andrew Liszewski was seemingly able to get some hands-on time with the device at the recent 2025 Consumer Electronics Show.
They were able to confirm that the Special Edition Greenhaven DuchesS will retail for $49.99 and that orders won’t be limited in quality, so there’s no need to snap it up immediately out of fear of missing out on snagging one.
Liszewski also specified that Hyperkin’s new product “is a wired USB-C controller compatible with the Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and Windows 10 / 11 PCs” - which unfortunately means that it won’t actually work for OG Xbox consoles without an adapter.
Honestly, the reactions to this thing in the comments make me think that this might be the most universally beloved announcement of all time. Literally can’t find a single person upset about this.

“You guys cooked hard,” commented user @XboxG0AT, “thank you!!!!!!! Seriously! Now make a Xbox live orange version! Crystal! Cortona Purple!”
Oh man, that one takes me back. I remember my OG crystal see-through Xbox controller.
Now that I think about it, it was a weirdly comfortable controller to hold in comparison to some of the more modern ones. Maybe I just have bear claw hands or something though.
No current release date, but as soon as there is we will let you know (mostly because I’m probably gonna try and snag one of these bad boys for myself).
