Microsoft has announced a new version of the Xbox Series X, dubbed the Galaxy Black edition, which will be available later this year in the run-up to Christmas.
The new console will come with a whopping 2TB SSD, ready to hold many more games than the standard Xbox Series X, however, the price has many fans wincing.
Persona 3 Reload DLC is on the way and you can play the full game on Xbox Game Pass
Pricing for the American market is $599.99 and, as mentioned, it will come with increased storage, but it also features a new coat of paint in a starry galactic black.

Of course, the news was taken to Reddit and fans had plenty to say on the matter.
“Bruh, I bought a series x for $350 last holiday. We're at a point in the gen where prices should be going down or maintaining the price but adding more storage.” said one Redditor, Spanish_Ginger.
LSKone isn’t impressed either as they explain, “Considering I paid 500€ for the base console back in 2020, an additional 150€ for one more TB of space and a new paintjob is .... not cheap.”
Another user, MrT735 points out that the price is even more bonkers when you consider “you can pick up the 1TB expansion cards for €130 or less at times.”

The Xbox Series X is known for having expandable storage via a Seagate drive that is fixed into the rear of the console, giving the hardware a bump of 1TB.
It seems odd that Microsoft would launch a new version of the console so late in the generation cycle and not take this into account.
The unhappy responses keep coming with fatfelon saying, “$600 is too much a console with no revision at all. And no, a 2 TB SSD isn’t a revision.”
While Ok_Structure4630 is looking at the bigger picture for Microsoft saying, “I’m not understanding this move. Xbox is reporting poor console sales, how do they see this helping? I can’t see people flocking to the stores for an extra TB and a paint job.”

It will be interesting to see how well this unit sells over the Christmas period and whether Microsoft sees any increased support for Xbox.
