It’s almost the end of an era, a beloved era at that.
On 29 July, the Xbox 360 Store and Xbox 360 Marketplace will close for good, as previously announced by Microsoft.
After this date, you’ll no longer be able to make digital purchases but you will still be able to enjoy the content that you’ve already brought.

The main concern regarding this store closure is the loss of certain titles.
Many classic games are backwards compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles, but not all are.
For example, the Xbox 360 remaster of Call of Duty Classic is one such game.
As pointed out by Reddit user NfinityBL, it’s the only entry in the franchise that’s not available on those aforementioned consoles, meaning that once it’s gone from the Xbox 360 store, it’s gone.

You won’t be able to track down a physical version as an alternative either.
Call of Duty Classic never received a physical launch so unless you own it before 29 July is upon us, it’ll be lost forever.
ICYMI: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch later this year.
Call of Duty Classic is by no means the only game that’ll befall this fate but it is one of the most prominent.

If you do want to nab it before the store’s closure, it’s currently available for $19.99.
It’s not a cheap purchase, but you would be buying an important piece of video game history.
As user KesMonkey points out, Finest Hour and Big Red One are also at risk of being lost following the store’s closure.
Those titles do have physical editions, unlike Classic, but they are still pretty tough to track down.

So if you are a Call of Duty fan, heed this warning.
It’s well worth perusing the Xbox 360 store before it’s closure to make sure you don’t miss out on one last chance to acquire some of these old favourites.
