It’s always nice to be immersed in a good RPG for countless hours to escape from our worldly woes, especially when that game is totally free and one such game is the upcoming Throne and Liberty.
Developed by NCSoft Team TL as well as being published by NCSoft and Amazon Games, Throne and Liberty is a free-to-play MMORPG that looks like a treat for fans of Game of Thrones and Final Fantasy XIV Online and it arrives later this year.
Check out the Throne and Liberty trailer below!
Powered by Unreal Engine 4, and from the same company that brought us the Guild Wars series, Throne and Liberty will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and will feature cross-play support for all available platforms. However, before the big release date arrives, you can get a taste of Throne and Liberty courtesy of its open beta taking place next month from 18 July to 23 July.
Advert
“On behalf of Amazon Games and NCSOFT, I’m proud to announce that Throne and Liberty will launch on 17 September 2024,” said Merv Lee Kwai, Head of Third-Party Publishing at Amazon Games. “We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on, and invite you to experience it all for yourself when the game launches this September.”
To celebrate the announcement of the Throne and Liberty release date, a new gameplay trailer has been released which gives us a taste of what to expect in the full game. Yet, you’ll get no better insight as to what this MMORPG is all about than signing up for the free open beta.
Unfortunately, before taking part in the open beta, it’s worth keeping in mind that your progress will not carry over into the full game, which is a shame. That being said, other than giving you a sample of the game, this beta exists to serve the purpose of participants providing feedback which will help shape the full version of the game.
Whether Throne and Liberty will be a successful MMORPG for NCSoft and Amazon Games remains to be seen. I guess we’ll find out for sure, a year from now.
