Microsoft is shaking up the way it offers free store credit to players. This was usually earned through the Microsoft Rewards Program but that was sidelined for Xbox Game Pass Quests.
It seems that’s getting another minor change, though so far it has only appeared in Australia.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is on its way to Game Pass
Multiple Xbox users in Australia have spotted a new series of ‘quests’ that will reward players for enjoying multiple games per month from the Xbox Game Pass catalogue, similar to the campaigns found as part of PlayStation Plus’ Stars program.

As reported on Reddit, it seems these new quests focus on several ways to earn Xbox store credit.
One of these quests is simply to play 15 minutes of one game to earn some reward points which can be accumulated into store credit.
Another asks players to play four different games per month, so the idea is to play more variety than stick to one game.
These streaks, meaning logging on consistently, will clock up as you play more games, more often.

That this is only available in Australia might point to bigger changes spreading across the world if responses are positive down under.
To contradict that thought, Xbox’s Brenna Duffet commented on social media that these quests are exclusive to Australia, which might mean region-exclusive tasks to earn store credit.
So, if you find yourself on that side of the world, fill your boots and enjoy more games.
This will land you some extra reward points which quickly build up to discounts on games via the Xbox store.

Users are slightly confounded that the rewards system is locked out for them and one wonders, “Is there fine print saying what regions?”
Many in the Reddit community are wishing for a little more clarity as one user posts, “When say 8 different games per month, I wonder if you can repeat them each month or need to be 8 different ones each month.”
