If you’re a fan of both RPGs and action-adventure titles, I have just the recommendation for you.
Here at GAMINGbible, Sea of Stars was easily one of our favourite releases of 2023. In fact, that’s why I’m here, in 2024, still fighting the good fight and urging you to play it.
Developed by Sabotage Studio, Sea of Stars sees players assume control of two characters, Valere and Zale.

One uses the power of the sun and the other, the power of the moon. Through both turn-based combat encounters and puzzle-soving, it’s your job to guide Valere and Zale into taking down a powerful alchemist.
Sea of Stars will scratch the itch of you retro game lovers. Despite being a recent release, it features a stunning pixel art world that’ll remind you of your favourite games of yesteryear.
Honestly, I did not want to stop exploring the game’s dazzling world and I know I’m not alone.
Sea of Stars garnered a very respectable score of 90 over on Metaciritc.

Take a look at Sea of Stars in action below.
GAMINGbible’s Ewan Moore awarded the game a score of nine, writing, “Sabotage Studios has created an unforgettable, essential RPG that stands on the shoulders of giants and boldly looks ahead to the future. Sea Of Stars is damn-near perfect, and more than deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the titles that inspired it.”
The good news is that you can sample Sea of Stars for free on Xbox courtesy of a free demo. Simply head over to the Xbox Store, search for the game, and the demo should appear.

The demo is careful not the spoil the game’s plot, instead introducing players to the world and mechanics of Sea of Stars.
Should you enjoy this, the full release is available on Xbox Game Pass while PlayStation users can enjoy it via PlayStation Plus’ extra tier.
