If you’re an Xbox owner who also happens to be a fan of gacha games and anime ladies then heads up; you should probably clear some space on your hard drive.
That’s right folks, Xbox has finally caught up to the year 2020, because Genshin Impact is coming to Xbox Series X/S consoles tomorrow.
As spotted by Pure Xbox’s Fraser Gilbert, Genshin Impact is now available for preload on Xbox. However, fans who were keen to get the title downloaded ahead of time noticed that the file size is a little chunkier than folks had previously assumed.

The game comes in at just over 100GB, which means that 515GB Xbox Series S owners will need to section off an entire fifth of their SSD just to fit this game on it.
Any Xbox owners who happen to be fans of both Call of Duty: Warzone and Genshin Impact should probably just bite the bullet and upgrade their SSD size now.
Naturally, those who were excited to play HoYoverse’s flagship title were a little taken aback by its file size.
Let's throw it back with the game's launch trailer.
In a thread over on r/xbox discussing the news, a lot of commenters all echoed similar sentiments regarding the 100GB download.

“I was just thinking of trying out Genshin again since its being added to Xbox, but 100 gigs?” commented WrstScp, “That's absolutely insane.”
“Wtf,” replied user No-Abbreviations2897, “Why on God's green Earth would this be that large?”
As Fraser Gilbert pointed out in the original story, this really shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.
A quick look at the Epic Store page for Genshin Impact reveals that, just like the Xbox version of the game, the PC version of the game needs 100GB of free space too.

That should thankfully be an indication that the game is pretty well optimised for Xbox systems at least.
