Starfield’s New Game Plus is hiding a fun little twist, with players teasing that this is where the game really starts.
Many of you are currently enjoying Starfield seeing as the game is in its early access period. Don’t have the Premium or Constellation edition? Worry not. Starfield will become available to all on 6 September and is a day one Game Pass release. We gave the game a perfect 10 in our review, writing, “Every now and then, a new game comes along that changes our perception of what the industry is capable of. Starfield is that game. This is beyond what we’ve come to know an open-world to be. Bethesda has created a universe that, despite its vast scale, maintains interest and an impressive attention to detail throughout.” It’s a game that clearly holds many secrets to be discovered.
Take a look at our video review of Starfield below.
Ahead of release, it was teased that Starfield included a “unique” and exciting twist on New Game Plus - and that’s certainly true. The word ‘tease’ is apt here because I’m absolutely not going to tell you what that twist is. It’s a major spoiler and if you want to find out, you’re going to have to go searching for answers. I’ll simply say that it’s best experienced spoiler-free as the story unfolds. And, of course, you won’t be disappointed.

Twitter account GamePassTracker wrote, “According to the one and only @GameOverGreggy (Greg Miller), and many others, you should focus solely on the Main Quest Line and then move onto New Game Plus. Users have reported that, without spoiling anything, it would be a mistake and not nearly as good of an experience if you deceived to do a completionism run. TLDR: Beat the game. Enter New Game Plus. Real game begins.” The tweet has received over a million views on the social media site.
Personally I wouldn’t recommend blitzing the main story. It’s best enjoyed if you take the time to immerse yourself in the world Bethesda has created, something Bethesda has recommended. If you deepen your understanding of the game’s various factions and planets, and actually meet and talk to the various NPCs, the main story has so much more significance. It does stand true however that New Game Plus adds something fresh and exciting into the mix, but why rush to that when you can have two uniquely different experiences. The choice lies with you, but I’d fully lose yourself in the game. Then simply do it again in a fresh and exciting way.
