There's a hell of a lot riding on Starfield. The open-world sci-fi RPG is the first new video game from Bethesda Softworks in years, and its first single-player RPG since 2015's Fallout 4.
In the time since the last Fallout entry, open-world adventures have come a hell of a long way. Games like Elden Ring, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, and Red Dead Redemption 2 have found new ways to push the genre forward mechanically and visually. Starfield needs to be a significant step up from what came before. Thankfully, based on everything we've seen, that looks to be the case.
Take a look at Starfield in all its glory below!
While most of seem pretty confident Starfield is going to be a hit, others are less convinced. Some believe that a demo for the game could go a long way towards allaying any fears of performance issues, but most argue that this is entirely unnecessary - and impractical - for a game of Starfield's scope.
Will There Be A Starfield Demo?
The short answer is no, there are no plans for a Starfield demo - and I'll tell you for why: there's absolutely no need.

For one thing, as various Reddit users have pointed out, Starfield will be available on Xbox and PC via Game Pass. If you want to check out the game without spending £70, you can grab a Game Pass subscription. And if you don't like it? You can sack it off and spend the rest of your month with Game Pass playing one of the many, many other games on the service.
It's also worth noting that Bethesda has never dropped a free demo or trial for any of their games, excluding the Fallout 76 beta... although we all know how that one went.
So while a free trial, or demo, or whatever you want to call it, isn't impossible? It's also extremely unlikely.
