Gather around, Xbox Game Pass subscribers. January’s service additions have been announced, and they include what is arguably the best Resident Evil game.
To kick off 2024, Xbox has announced that eight new games will land on the service this month - allowing you to enjoy them at no extra cost outside of the price of your subscription. Close to the Sun is available now (cloud, console, and PC), with Hell Let Loose landing later today (cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X/S). On January 9, Ubisoft’s enormous Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will join the roster (cloud, console, and PC) alongside Figment (cloud, console, and PC).
Take a look at Resident Evil 2 in action below.
Flash forward to 11 January, and users will be able to enjoy Super Mega Baseball 4 (cloud, console and PC) via EA Play, and We Happy Few (cloud, console, and PC). Finally, we reach 16 January when Those Who Remain (cloud, console, and PC) and Resident Evil 2 (cloud, console, and PC) will become available. It’s Resident Evil 2 that I want to draw your attention to.
Advert
Capcom’s 2019 remake excellently brought Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield’s zombie-centric journey through Raccoon City to fresh audiences, garnering a very respectable score of 91 on Metacritic. I claimed that Resident Evil 2 is the best Resi game. I’ll admit, the Resident Evil 4 remake boasts some stiff competition (and a score of 93), but it’s splitting hairs really. They’re both top tier.
If you’ve always wondered if Resi is for you, I’d certainly recommend diving into Resident Evil 2 when it drops in a couple of weeks. I’ll warn you that several titles are also due to depart Game Pass this month. GTA V (cloud and console) will leave on 5 January, followed by Garden Story, MotoGP 22, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable (all cloud, console, and PC) on 15 January.
