With record-breaking figures and heaps of popularity, Palworld is taking over the gaming sphere and showing no signs of stopping. So it is perhaps no surprise that some players are waiting over 40 minutes just to get into the game.
Released earlier this month, Palworld is the latest Pokémon inspired monster-taming, survival game from PocketPair. Despite being surrounded by controversy over its suspected Pokémon plagiarism, it has not stopped over 8 million copies being sold on PC alone over the past two weeks.

With the title becoming Steam’s second ever game to ever hit 2 million concurrent players, we can imagine the servers are quite packed and that is seemingly the case for players who wish to dive in via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

In a report by Windows Central, one reporter found themselves facing extended queue times just to enter Palworld. Bundled with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Cloud Gaming allows players to access a large variety of games from a remote Xbox-based server. With no need to even install a game and save files being shared between the Cloud and the Xbox console or PC app, it can be quite beneficial but with a game as popular as Palworld, it is struggling to keep up.
So much so that many players have taken to r/xcloud to share their frustrations. “I am just gonna beat the last boss of Lies of P and cancel my subscription. It’s frustrating to wait 10-35 minutes every time,” read one comment.
However, it seems as though Palworld isn’t the only game to face long wait times courtesy of Xbox Cloud Gaming. Previously Monster Hunter Rise also gave players some issues with queue times ranging between 15 to 30 minutes.
Despite being the most popular game of the year so far, many Xbox gamers are giving up on Palworld if it means facing long queue times. Here is hoping it gets fixed soon.
