We love the vibes this Xbox exclusive is giving – it’s Fallout: New Vegas meets Skyrim, arguably two of the best Bethesda games to ever grace our consoles.
So, what game is it that we’re referring to? Why, it’s Avowed, of course.
Watch the official gameplay trailer for Avowed – it looks amazing!
The Obsidian Entertainment RPG was shown at the Xbox Showcase in early June of this year after scarcely any news about the title since its announcement in 2020. The impressive update not only gave us a brief glimpse into the atmospheric lands of the game but also provided us with an idea of a potential launch window.

Since then, we’ve had 2024 marked on our calendars as the year Xbox’s Avowed becomes a reality. Knowing the rough timeframe has naturally led to some trying to better pinpoint what half of the year the game will launch, with recent speculation having slated it for a Q1 2024 release.
This rumour was quickly shut down by Twitter user @Klobrille, who said that they could say with “certainty” that the game wouldn’t be out then. Where they got this information hasn’t been answered, but it seems that they seemingly know something other gamers don’t, possibly thanks to an insider at Xbox.
Although the promising Microsoft title has no firmer date as of yet, we can at least comfort ourselves with the knowledge that what we’ve seen from other first-person epic adventures, like in The Elder Scrolls.

We assume that Avowed won’t simply just be a carbon copy of what’s gone before, nevertheless, it’ll likely have plenty of similarities to other fantasy RPGs, a fact we welcome as avid fans of Elder Scrolls.
“Explore the Living Lands, a mysterious island filled with adventure and danger. As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate rumours of a spreading plague with a secret that threatens to destroy everything. Can you save the island and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them apart?” That’s what Avowed promises and, so far, it looks set to deliver.
Avowed will release on Xbox Series X and S in 2024, unless otherwise announced.
