Blood Gulch is without a doubt one of the greatest Halo, and general multiplier maps, of all time, no debate.
The Halo franchise has spawned some now iconic gaming memories with its multiplayer, many of which are memorable because of the varied battlegrounds they were experienced on. Out of all of the maps from Halo, past and present, there are none so iconic as Blood Gulch from Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2.

For those who are yet to experience the OG Halo multiplayer, first of all you can play them all via Halo: The Master Chief Collection which is currently on Xbox Game Pass. Secondly, Blood Gulch was a simple map set in an enormous canyon, with a red base and a blue base stocked with weapons and vehicles. It served a range of different purposes, like Capture The Flag, Big Team Battle and Oddball, and it’s ingrained into just about every Halo fan’s mind for its simplicity and visuals.

The map became the point of discussion on Reddit recently, via a post by bapplebo, who not only praised it for being the best map in the series but also said it’s “One of the greatest multiplayer levels ever made.”
Fans chimed in with their own experiences on the level, further cementing its title as one of the best maps in gaming history.
“Some of my favorite memories - sniping Ghost drivers, blowing a full Warthog up with a tank right as it was getting back to their base with the flag. Great and simpler times.”
“I remember when my dad wanted me to teach him how to play Halo. He didn’t play video games but always wanted to try and support what I was interested in. I booted up Blood Gulch and he loved just driving around in the Scorpion shooting random shit.”

“Used to play the halo demo on PC because it was free, had online matchmaking, and only had this map. Hundreds of hours playing this map with randoms, there were even clans.”
Try as hard as it might, there’ll never be another Halo map like Blood Gulch, it’s just too ironic by this point.
