The wife of a Helldivers 2 player has started a “support group” for the significant others of the brave soldiers spreading freedom and democracy throughout the galaxy.
Helldivers 2 has taken gamers by storm, and is proof a game can be a quality-driven experience without a premium price point. In our review we praised the game’s exhilarating combat and the sense of pride and accomplishment you feel when you've liberated a planet of bugs with your friends.

The game is at an all-time high at the moment, especially when you take a look at the game’s concurrent Steam players, as it’s quickly overtaken games like Starfield, Palworld and other titles. Of course this means there’s an alarming number of significant others who’ve lost their partners for hours at a time because of the game, though some are taking it as an opportunity to join in on the fun without a copy of the game.

Tiktok user Sarahebaus recently created a post called the Wives And Girlfriends of Helldiver Soldiers Support Group, outlining several things a partner of a Helldivers player needs to know if they want to support their intergalactic hero, including key terminology and phrases they need to know.

She said: “Wives and girlfriends of Helldiver soldiers, so we need to do our part. I’ve been taking notes on how we can support the cause of the language that we need to understand to be part of the lore.”
The post has since blown up, with hundreds of Helldivers players thanking her for her service, and plenty of heartwarming stories about couples who’ve been playing the game together over the past few weeks.
Helldivers 2 continues to grow in popularity, so much so that Xbox players are desperate to join the fun, and hope one day it’ll be available for more platforms than just PlayStation 5 and PC. It’ll certainly be a challenge though, especially since the servers are already at capacity after there being way more players the developers initially predicted.
You can play Helldivers 2 on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
