We’ve all had the experience of finishing a game so good and profoundly impactful that you just don’t know what to do with yourself for a while. You can get so absorbed in something that once the credits roll, the thought of moving on to play something different just makes you feel empty.
I speak from experience - the first time I finished Xenoblade Chronicles, it took me two weeks to stop thinking about the ending and finally start something else. In that time, it felt almost wrong to even consider putting my energy elsewhere when I’d just witnessed (in my opinion, it should be noted) the finale of the greatest game ever. Even though it’s still my favourite, however, I did eventually shake that feeling off, but it seems that one huge fan of The Witcher 3 is still struggling to move on Geralt’s most recent adventure after all these years. Honestly, I don’t blame them.
Take a look at the trailer for The Witcher 3’s new-gen update below.
“Witcher 3 ruined all other games,” Reddit user mayhem_1979 lamented. “I sank deep into other games [-] Cyberpunk, Kingdom Come, Elden Ring, all Assassin's Creed games, but I always come back to Geralt. Almost seven-eight complete playthroughs.”

Others are on the exact same page: “It’s a masterpiece. I only hope one day I can play a game that made me feel the way I did when I first played Witcher 3. Five full playthroughs but nothing will beat that first experience. As far as other games that [tided] me over in between Witcher… Fallout 4, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk, Hogwarts [Legacy], all great but none matching,” motiongfx515 wrote. “I play others but always compare [them] to Witcher 3 and I have yet to find an equal,” Public-Friend 9 agreed.
No pressure for the next Witcher game, then.
