The Elder Scrolls VI couldn’t come any sooner, it’s been so long since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim dropped and we’re in dire need of the sequel.
While Bethesda rarely comments on the next game in the series, probably for the best after so many false promises with Fallout 76 and Starfield, ex Bethesda staff have been vocal in their excitement for the next Elder Scrolls game.

The Elder Scrolls VI will apparently push the boundaries of open-world RPGs, and will hopefully offer a more refined experience than Starfield since there’ll just be one map to explore rather than several across different planets.

One former Bethesda employee has said one of the big features that’s already primed and ready for the next Elder Scrolls game is Creation Club 2.0.
Fans might remember Creation Club 2.0 is the new-and-improved mod tool system that allows users to upload and download mods created by other users.
It even allows modding to be done on Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game within reason, as the hardware is more limited than high-end PCs.
Bruce Nesmith, who acted as the lead designer on Skyrim says Creation Club 2.0 is “perfectly tuned” for The Elder Scrolls VI, and all other Bethesda RPGs for that matter.

If that’s the case, The Elder Scrolls VI will truly be a modders paradise, and one can only imagine what kind of expansions and changes will be possible once the game is in our hands.
The game needs to release first though, and at the time of writing there’s still no release window to speak of, though there’ll likely be an update towards the end of the year or sometime in 2025.
In the meantime at least we know the foundations are in place for what will inevitably be Bethesda’s biggest game yet.
