We’re all fans of gaming here, clearly. We’re also fans of ensuring that gaming is accessible to all. Titles like Starfield and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 may be the current talk of the town, ahead of their respective September and October releases, but it can be expensive to stay up to date with all of the latest gaming releases.
Alongside the aforementioned two games, we’ve also got Mortal Kombat 1, Alan Wake 2, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Lies of P, and Alone In The Dark on the way. In other words, the remainder of this year is absolutely stacked. That being said, dropping up to £70 on a game just isn’t always financially feasible, so here at GAMINGbible, we like to keep you up to date on all the latest free-to-play offerings. There are some delightful new free games out there, and it’s important that we promote gaming for all - regardless of budget. Today, I’m here to tell you about: Portal Prelude RTX, Starseige: Deadzone, Deadlink, KILL CRAB, Kebab Simulator, and Asura (as spotted by SteamGamesPC).
Take a look at Portal Prelude RTX in action below.
The only game on this line-up with a catch is Portal Prelude RTX. This incredibly popular unofficial prequel mod has received a gorgeous fully ray-traced graphical overhaul thanks to the NVIDIA DLSS 3 and RTX IO. To play this though, you will need a copy of Portal already installed on your PC. If you already have Portal, the mod will allow you to enjoy a further 19 test chambers in an eight to 10 hour campaign.

Next up, we have Starsiege: Deadzone. Developed by Prophecy Games, this is a corridor extraction shooter set in the ‘far reaches of space’. Players will need to overcome hostile ‘Cybrids’ as they team up with two squadmates. Following on from that, we have the prologue of Deadlink, developed by Gruby Entertainment. In this ‘guns-blazing’ cyberpunk FPS, players will ‘infiltrate the turf of Tora Heavy Industries while piloting an armed humanoid shell’. As I said, it’s only free access to the prologue. The full game is set to release tomorrow.
KILL CRAB is another FPS, this time developed by Tumbleweed Games. Set in an underwater wild west town, it has somewhat of a SpongeBob vibe to it. Here, players will fight against so-called ‘aquatic vermin’. In Kebab Simulator, developed by Biotech Gameworks, players will (you guessed it) run a kebab restaurant. It’s essentially a business management/cooking sim. Again, you can only access the prologue but you’ll get a feel for all of the main game mechanics ahead of the full release.
Finally, we have Asura which has been made by the folks over at Debuz. Asura is essentially a 2D pixel MMORPG which is in early access/ Hopefully, there’s a bit of something here for everyone.
