Steam drops free store credit you've until 7 August to grab

Anyone want some free credit?

A new month begins, and with it comes another way to claim some free store credit for Steam.

With so many games available on Valve’s platform, it can be difficult to have the time and funds to play them all.

We can’t help you find more time, but we can point you in the direction of extra cash.

Not everyone will be able to grab this free Steam credit, however, you all have an equal chance of winning.

Assuming you enter this competition, that is.

If battling it out for freebies isn’t an experience you’re interested in, there’s still much to explore on Steam.

Check out the Defenders of the Omniverse trailer below

Right now, there are 12 free games waiting to be downloaded and kept this month.

None of them require you to already have store credit in place, you just find the ones you want and start playing.

It’s all a little safe, though, isn’t it?

There’s nothing ventured, and thus, nothing is gained.

This is where the competition from Babushka Entertainment comes into play.

Defenders of the Omniverse is the publisher’s upcoming game, and to celebrate its launch, it’s giving away $10 in Steam credit.

Unlike other giveaways we've shared with you previously, the rules of this competition are ridiculously easy.

All you need to do is follow the Defenders of the Omniverse Twitter account, retweet the giveaway post, and then tag a friend.

It couldn’t be simpler.

Everyone interested in entering has until 7 August, at which point the winner will be selected.

We shouldn’t have to say this, but it bears mentioning just in case: not everyone will get free store credit.

This is a competition.

It should be obvious, but sometimes people see the mention of free money and get carried away, forgetting to read the fine print.

Good luck, folks!
