Steam free sandbox game leaves fans pleasantly surprised

Not for those who fear deep water

It is always baffling to me that we know more about outer space than we do about the deep ocean.

If you feel the same, this brand-new underwater simulation game is guaranteed to add to that fear of the unknown but also give you the opportunity to explore all that the ocean has to offer.

Infinite Blue is “an immersive ocean eco-sim” from creators Gluten Free Games and was added to Steam earlier this month.

In this underwater simulation title, players will get to take on the role of almost any animal under the sea from a tiny seahorse to a massive blue whale.

As you experience the circle of life, you will get to experience what it would really be like to live in the utmost depths of the ocean, from the world of reefs, to shipwrecks, and hidden wonders.

“Dive into the world of Infinite Blue, an expansive underwater exploration game where you can become countless different ocean animals and swim through a beautifully realistic ocean environment,” the official Steam synopsis reads.

There are 50 unique species of animal for you to discover from small tropical fish, eight-legged cephalopods, sea turtles, stingray, sharks, whales and much more.

However, in Infinite Blue, you will get to experience being both predator and prey as you insert yourself into the food chain. As a result, you can stumble across perma-death and never-death as you will take on the form of a different animal when you die.

“Realtime physics bodies help create complex movements for the unique physiologies of the sea, bringing incredible life and realism to their interactions with the environment around them.”

Since its release, Infinite Blue has racked up quite a few positive reviews.

“It's free. A little buggy, but not unplayable,” one positive review reads.

“Don't play as a starfish, it sucks and you can't jump to other animals when you're on the ocean floor so you get stuck playing this slow-as-molasses bottom feeder.”

“On a personal note, I think this game has a HUGE potential,” another review reads.

Better yet, Infinite Blue is completely free to download on Steam right now so if you want to try out this epic sandbox game, make sure you check it out.
