If you have ever wanted to experience Stardew Valley but during the medieval period, then you are in luck as this upcoming fantasy adventure is guaranteed to tick all the boxes.
Developed by BashfulWolf Studio and combining the simulator elements of Stardew Valley with the medieval setting of Valheim, Harrowlands is an upcoming city-builder set in a vast, mystical realm.

In Harrowlands, you will need to master intricate base-building mechanics and guide your inhabitants through complex social bonds that define their very world.

“Harrowlands is a medieval fantasy colony sim where you guide your settlement through the ever-changing world of Elderath,” the official Steam synopsis reads.
“Experience the everyday lives, struggles, and triumphs of your inhabitants—each with their own backstory, traits, and destiny.”
You will begin your story one of two ways: as a fugitive who has narrowly escaped, or a mutated survivor from a forbidden sacrificial rite.
How you begin the story is up to you but with three distinct races to choose from - each with their own distinctive appearances, traits, temperaments and cultures - how you interact with the world will be unique.

Not only that but every inhabitant of your lands will have their own story to tell in a massive procedurally generated world.
“Brace for reaver raids, navigate imperial demands during events like the Sovereign Reign, and decide whether to befriend or antagonize court mages, inquisitors, and other factions.”
When you are not building or exploring mystical biomes, you will be engaging with travelling merchants, neighbouring villages, imperial outposts, and much more as you choose who to befriend or who to make an enemy out of.
In Harrowlands, crafting and customisation is also part of the experience as you collect or create hundreds of magical weapons, equipment, books, and consumables.

There is so much to do in Harrowlands, and despite the city-builder not yet having a release date, it will be heading to early-access soon.
So if you are a fan of the simulator and city-builder genres, make sure you add Harrowlands to your wishlist now.
