Resident Evil fans won’t want to miss out on this heavily-inspired horror game that revitalises the spooky PlayStation 1 era.
Despite the PlayStation 1 having incredibly dated graphics compared to what we have now, something it did exceptionally well was horror games like Resident Evil or Parasite Eve and of course, Silent Hill.
A remake of Silent Hill 2 is on the way for the PlayStation 5, check out the latest gameplay footage below
If you’re a fan of any of those games you’re going to love Crow Country, an upcoming Steam game that’s basically a love-letter to the creepy PlayStation 1 game genre.

In terms of gameplay style it’s very similar to Final Fantasy 7 in the sense you’re just a 3D little fella running around a 2D area, but with the same interactive elements as your standard Resident Evil game.
The full game description reads: “The year is 1990. It’s been two years since the mysterious disappearance of Edward Crow and the abrupt closure of his theme park, Crow Country. But your arrival has broken the silence, Mara Forest. If you want answers, you’ll have to venture deep into the darkness of Crow Country to find them…”
It’s scheduled for release sometime this year though an exact date isn’t available at the time of writing. That being said, you can play the game for free through a demo that’ll take players through a snippet of the game. In the demo you’ll explore the environments, search for some clues and evade some frankly terrifying monsters, all of which will give you a taste of what the full game will be like.
The Crow Country demo is available to download on Steam, for free, right now and you should absolutely give it a try, especially if you’re a fan of retro games.
