Who would have thought that we could have a video game that gives us a bit of both Hogwarts Legacy and Zoo Tycoon? If that sounds like something that might pique your interest, then you should check out this upcoming game on Steam.
Published by Gobliz Interactive and developed by indie studio Piece of Cake Fabulous, Fantastic Haven is a building simulation with a good dose of sandbox exploration and it’s coming to PC via Steam soon. Better still, you can download and play its free prologue right now.
Check out the Fantastic Haven trailer below!
“Fantastic Haven: Prologue is a free version of Fantastic Haven. Save fantasy creatures and protect them before releasing them into their natural habitat. Build your shelter, explore the neighbouring region, and encounter a series of events,” reads the description on the Steam store.

“In a world where magic is gradually disappearing in favour of technological advances that threaten the balance, you play the role of the Elders, protectors of the continent,” it continues. “While the inhabitants prefer to hunt the creatures and gradually abandon magic, your mission is to restore the balance by saving the fantasy creatures, while using diplomacy and teaching to convince people to live in harmony with them.”
The Fantastic Haven: Prologue features a generous amount of content for what is essentially a demo such as 10 buildings to unlock, a whole region to explore, creatures to discover and save as well as a total of seven narrative events.
The full version of Fantastic Haven doesn't have a release date at the time of writing, but we do know that it will be released on PC at some point this year (hopefully). It would be great to see Fantastic Haven released on the Switch because I believe it would be a great fit for Nintendo’s hybrid console. In the meantime, you can add it to your Steam wishlist to keep updated for when that release date drops.
