It has officially been a decade since Far Cry 4 was first released but to everybody’s surprise, Ubisoft is back with a major update for the iconic first-person shooter.
Released back in 2014 as the fourth main instalment in the Far Cry series, Far Cry 4 is one of the highest rated in the franchise, mainly in part due to Troy Baker’s role as villain Pagan Min.
Check out the launch trailer for Far Cry Classic below!
“Hidden in the towering Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence,” the official synopsis reads.

“You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min.”
However, with many more instalments to arrive later on, Far Cry 4 gradually got lost to the sands of time.
That is until now.
Ubisoft has finally offered a major upgrade to Far Cry 4 fans by adding achievements to Steam in an attempt to gradually update its older games on the PC storefront.
Advert
After the news that all of Ubisoft’s upcoming titles will also be added to Steam on day one, rather than just Ubisoft Connect, Far Cry 4 is the latest game to have achievements added years on from release.
This follows older series such as Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon who recently received the same treatment.
For the first time, Far Cry 4 now has 57 Steam achievements to earn which will give players the perfect opportunity to revisit the 2014 title.
In its vast open-world, these achievements will range from random events, collectibles and opportunities which, as all Far Cry fans will know, feature heavily in its titles.

Luckily, if you have already earned the achievements via Ubisoft Connect, you will automatically unlock them on Steam if you just so happen to play the game on that platform instead.
Additionally, Ubisoft has also revealed that it will be adding achievements to Far Cry 3 but we are none the wiser on a specific date.
