Several Starfield fans are getting nervous following the sudden, unexplained cancellation of their Constellation Edition pre-orders.
Bethesda’s deep-space exploration game, Starfield, is one of this year’s most anticipated releases, with many considering it to be a potential Game Of The Year candidate, provided the game isn’t riddled with bugs and performance issues at launch.
Check out the trailer for Starfield’s Constellation Edition below!
The game’s size and scale are of particular interest to players, with over 1,000 planets to explore, which you can visit in a starship of your own design. Fans are beyond hyped and have already begun planning their playthroughs, as well as preparing to sink hundreds, if not thousands, of hours into yet another Bethesda open-world RPG.

Particularly eager fans who pre-ordered Starfield’s Constellation Edition (basically the Collector’s Edition) were caught off-guard recently though, when they received notifications implying their orders have been cancelled, with no explanation as to how and why.
One cancellation was shared on a Reddit thread by user Beltaine-7716 who said: “I'm more than a little concerned about the order update I just got” along with tracking information that appears to show the order as voided.
They weren’t the only ones either, as others stated they’d also received the strange order update for their pre-orders.
“Same and mine was ordered an hour after the direct on June 11th shenanigans are afoot. Hopefully, this is some error and not a mass cancellation.”

“same thing happened to me...it doesn't say cancelled...just competitive price match?”
“I just received the same thing...either it's an error or they won't have enough on hand and the order was technically cancelled.”
It’s worth noting that this only seems to be for the PC version of the Constellation Edition, with Xbox consumers not reporting any issues as of yet.
It’s more than likely the cause of the weird “cancellations” is some sort of problem on the supplier’s end and not an indication you’ll be losing your pre-orders anytime soon. Other commenters in the threat reported their orders, which didn’t include Starfield, were also receiving similar tracking updates, implying it’s a server error and nothing more.

Hopefully, that’s all it is though, as I’m sure many Starfield fans will want to get their hands on the Constellation Edition at launch, and with only a limited number available, sudden cancellations could be catastrophic for hardcore collectors.
