Starfield fans are planning to help a player turn their character into a heartwarming tribute to their late father.

Bethesda’s upcoming space-exploration game, Starfield, is almost here and fans are already planning their route through the game’s enormous galaxy, designing their own starships and thinking about their character builds.

Take a look at Starfield below!

Starfield is promising more freedom than any other Bethesda game, even letting you become a samurai in space, which is beyond cool.

However, one fan wants to use Starfield’s in-depth character creation to turn their character into the late father, and has requested the help of the community to make it happen, receiving an outpouring of support and offers of assistance.

Reddit user FunkyPunk1995 shared a post asking fans to help memorialise their father in the game, explaining their dad was unable to play video games due to motion sickness, but was reportedly interested in Starfield’s open-world and customisation options. Unfortunately, the father has since passed away.

FunkyPunk1995 then said: “I would LOVE it if someone who is great with character creators could help me model my player character after my father. I'm just really not good at making in-game characters look anything like what I want. I just don't have an artist's brain.”

They went on to say: “If anyone would like to help … I would be willing to pay you for your efforts. The thought of being able to let my dad explore the galaxy like that really does warm my heart and brings me some comfort, so thank you to anyone who helps.”

Since the game isn’t out yet, and we don’t have access to the character creator, it’s currently impossible to fulfil the request, but that didn’t stop other fans from offering their condolences as well as asking the player to post a picture of their day on release day so people can help.

“Idk if I'd be any good at it, but post his pic and I'll try as soon as the game is out!”

“If I had the game currently I would be more than willing to help ya”

“Real sorry to hear that. In a way what you're trying to do is absolutely poetic. He's gone but he will be with you through yet another journey, this time in the stars together.”

Hopefully, the player can realise their dream when Starfield launches on the 6th of September.
