Star Wars Outlaws free download roasted by fans

It's a pretty exclusive reward

Star Wars Outlaws is just a couple of weeks away and to celebrate, developers Massive Entertainment is giving away one interesting free download.

Regarded as the first open-world Star Wars game, Star Wars Outlaws is finally set to release on 30 August.

Check out our Star Wars Outlaws gameplay preview below!

Set during the events between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the story follows Kay Vess, a young scoundrel who assembles a team to pull off a massive heist to pay off a crime syndicate.

Now to celebrate the upcoming release, Disney+ subscribers can get their hands on an exclusive reward to use in-game but it has left fans wanting a bit more.

The free item in question is a Nix tail wrap, with Nix being Kay’s little creature companion.

So yes, it’s a wrap to put around their tail. Cool, I guess?

Disney+ subscribers have until 15 November to claim it but be warned that it is not available outside of the U.S.

As a result of its limited availability and lack of imagination, fans were less than pleased and took to Twitter to share their frustrations.

“Tail wrap? Really? That’s pretty ridiculous,” one comment read.

Another read: “US only?! After all we’ve done to subjugate the world and I can’t even get a light blue tail wrap for my pet in my game I’ve not got yet?! The suffering.”

Another comment also pointed out that the item isn’t technically free.

“Gross. That's super gross to do in a single player game like that. It also isn't free, it costs a Disney + Sub,” they said.

We were lucky enough to preview Star Wars Outlaws here at GAMINGbible and had a hell of a good time with the upcoming title.

“So far Star Wars Outlaws has completely blown me away,” our preview read.

“I was thoroughly impressed with the level of detail Ubisoft has seemingly put into the game, and even more so at how seamless everything seemed to fit into the existing Star Wars canon.”
