Red Dead Redemption finally getting the official remaster we've waited years for

The new remaster looks fantastic

Rockstar Games has shared some high-quality screenshots on the new Red Dead Redemption PC port, and it’s looking more and more like a remaster.

Red Dead Redemption fans are beyond excited that the first game is being ported to PC, along with the Undead Nightmare DLC.

Check out the game below

The official PC port will launch later this month on 29 October, just two days before the Horizon: Zero Dawn remaster too, so it’ll be interesting to see if the two games compete at all.

To be clear though, this is not an official remaster, though hopefully one does get made one day as it’d be great to replay John Marston’s story with Red Dead Redemption 2 visuals and gameplay.

What this port will include are several PC-exclusive features that’ll make it better than the console versions, and you can see the effect they have on the graphics in several posts on X.

They include 4k visuals, greater render distances, and support for ultrawide monitors if you’ve got one of those lying around.

Fans have reacted to some of the high-quality images, and are excited to snap their own pictures when the game launches later this month.

“Looks amazing for an old game. sad the version they brought to the current gen doesn’t look this good” said one fan.

“Can you imagine what modders will do for the graphics?” added another.

Finally one fan said “Hope modding will be easy cause I sure want to see this game look like RDR2 just for fun.”

It’s certainly an improvement over the base game visuals, even if it isn't the fully-fledged remaster we’ve been waiting for.

The Red Dead Redemption remaster will launch on PC later this month on 29 October, and if you haven’t played it for a while there's no better time to dive back in.
